Talaqy is a local social platform designed for university students in Jordan to create, discover, and join real-life activities such as study groups, sports, coffee meetups, and other local plans through an activity-based experience.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of data:

• Account Information: such as your name, email address, age, user ID, and account-related identifiers.
• Profile Information: such as profile photos, biography, gender, city, university, interests, and activity preferences.
• Activity Information: such as activities you create, activity titles, descriptions, category, available spots, selected city, optional activity location, and participation-related data.
• Optional Map Location Information: only when you manually choose to share an activity location on the map, we may store the manually selected map point for that activity.
• Communications: including activity chat messages and related in-app communication exchanged inside activity chats.
• Safety Information: such as block records, reports, moderation notes, and related abuse-prevention data.
• Technical Information: such as app version, device-related technical details, performance data, and diagnostic information when needed to operate the service.

3. How We Use Information

• To create and manage user accounts.
• To help users complete their city, university, and profile setup.
• To display profile details and activity-related information inside the app.
• To enable activity creation, activity discovery, activity participation, optional map-based browsing, and group activity chats.
• To show activity map pins only when the activity creator manually chooses to share an activity location.
• To improve app performance, user experience, service quality, and feature reliability.
• To detect abuse, fraud, spam, fake accounts, harassment, or misuse of the platform.
• To respond to support requests, moderation needs, safety issues, and operational problems.

4. Location Usage

Talaqy includes an optional map feature that may display activity locations. Location sharing is designed to be user-controlled and manual.

• Optional Sharing: Location sharing is completely optional and disabled by default.
• User Permission: Users are asked before using map-related features, and users may decline.
• Manual Check-In: Users must manually select a location each time they choose to share an activity location on the map.
• Per-Activity Control: A location is shared only for the specific activity where the user chooses to enable map sharing.
• No Automatic Tracking: Talaqy does not track users in real time and does not collect background location data.
• No Continuous Location Sharing: Talaqy does not continuously monitor, update, or broadcast a user's live location.
• Map Visibility: Activities only appear on the map when the activity creator explicitly enables location sharing and manually selects a location.

5. Safety, Reporting & Blocking

Talaqy provides tools to help users stay safer while using the platform. These tools include the ability to block other users and report inappropriate behavior or unsafe content.

Talaqy enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for abusive behavior, harassment, harmful content, objectionable content, or unsafe conduct. Users who violate these rules may be removed from the platform.

• Blocking: When you block another user, we store information such as your user ID and the blocked user's ID to prevent further interaction where applicable.
• Immediate Removal: Blocking removes the blocked user or related content from your feeds, map view, chats, or other relevant app areas where applicable.
• Reporting: When you report a user or content, we may collect information such as your user ID, the reported account or related content, selected reason, optional notes, and the date/time of the report.
• Moderation: Reported accounts, chats, activities, and related content may be reviewed to detect abuse, harassment, spam, fake profiles, or violations of our terms.
• Review Time: Reports are reviewed by moderation as soon as possible and within 24 hours when required for safety-related reports.
• Enforcement: If content or behavior violates our safety rules, Talaqy may remove the content, restrict access, suspend the account, or permanently remove the offending user.

6. Sharing of Information

Some profile and activity information you choose to provide may be visible to other users inside the app as part of Talaqy’s core functionality.

This may include information such as your name, profile image, city, university, activities you create, activity details, and content shared inside activity-based features where applicable.

Activity location information is only visible on the map if the activity creator manually chooses to share that activity location.

We may share limited information only when necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, investigate abuse, or protect users and the platform.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect personal data, account information, uploaded content, activity data, optional map activity location data, and user communications.

However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, operate the platform, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce our rules, and comply with legal obligations.

Safety-related records, such as reports and block records, may be retained as needed for abuse prevention, moderation, platform security, dispute handling, and legal compliance.

9. Account Deletion

Users can delete their account directly from the Talaqy app settings.

To delete your account:

• Open the Talaqy app
• Go to your Profile
• Open Settings
• Select "Delete Account"

Once your account is deleted, your profile, uploaded photos, activity chats, activities, participation records, optional activity map locations, and associated data will be permanently removed, unless retention is required for legal, safety, moderation, or fraud-prevention purposes.

10. Your Rights

• Request access to certain information linked to your account.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account or personal data where applicable.
• Choose not to share activity locations on the map.
• Contact us regarding privacy or data-related concerns.

11. Minimum Age

Talaqy is not intended for children. Users must meet the minimum age requirement required by applicable law and platform rules to use the service.

12. Third-Party Services

Talaqy may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, cloud storage, databases, notifications, analytics, maps, and technical infrastructure.

These providers may process information only as needed to support the functionality and operation of the service.

13. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date on this page may be revised.
